3^rd Annual Mark’s Classic

The Charlottetown Curling Club is pleased to be hosting the third instalment of the annual Mark’s Work Wearhouse Curling Classic the weekend of January 19^th to 21^st 2007. This year’s event should be a great tune-up for teams preparing for their playdowns in the weeks that follow. The Mark’s has been played as a double knockout to 8 qualifiers in its first two years. However, this year’s cashspiel will follow a new format. The tournament will be limited to 16 teams, with a four pool round robin qualifying 6 teams. The four first place teams in each division will playoff on Saturday evening with the winners advancing straight to Sundays semi-finals and the losers dropping in to the quarter-finals on Sunday. While the four second place teams in each division will also playoff on Saturday evening, the two winners will advance to the quarter-finals while the losers will be eliminated.
